What Does AS/NZS 4020 Mean?

The material your rainwater touches matters.

What It Means

  • The published High Performance Mesh specification lists AS4020 drinking-water contact testing.
  • Contact testing relates to the material; it does not establish the safety of water from the complete rainwater system.
  • Ask for the current product test documentation when specifying the material for a project.

What It Does Not Mean

  • Does not mean the material actively purifies incoming water
  • Does not destroy bacteria, viruses, or pathogens in the tank
  • Does not replace the ongoing need for mechanical water treatment
