A Trimdek® gutter guard kit is designed specifically for metal roofs with a Trimdek® or similar trapezoidal rib profile. The mesh covers the gutter opening and extends onto the roof, where specially shaped saddles secure it to each roof rib.
The completed system helps keep leaves, debris, birds and vermin out of the gutter while allowing rainwater to flow through.
Our Trimdek® kits are suitable for Trimdek® and Spandek® roof profiles.
Trimdek® roofing has wide, flat pans separated by raised trapezoidal ribs. It is different from traditional corrugated roofing and Klip-Lok® roofing, so it is important to select the kit made for your specific roof profile.

Choose the kit according to the area you need to protect:
Standard gutters: Choose the Universal Mesh Trimdek® Gutter Guard Kit for general leaf, bird and vermin protection.
Bushfire-prone properties up to BAL-29: Choose the Ember Mesh Trimdek® Ember Guard Kit.
Box gutters: Choose the Trimdek® Box Gutter Guard Kit, which includes wider mesh for covering the distance between the roof and box gutter.
Roof valleys: Choose the Trimdek® Valley Gutter Guard Kit to help prevent leaves and debris from collecting in the valley.
You may need more than one type of kit if your roof has standard gutters, valleys and box gutters.
The standard Trimdek® gutter guard kit includes:
- Powder-coated aluminium gutter mesh
- Colorbond® gutter trims
- Trimdek® saddles for securing the mesh to the roof ribs
- Self-drilling roofing screws
- Installation instructions and access to installation videos
The number of saddles and screws is calculated to suit the selected kit length. Box gutter and valley kits contain different mesh widths and fittings for their particular application.
Universal Mesh is designed for general gutter protection. Its 3 mm by 4 mm openings help keep out leaves, larger debris, birds and vermin.
Ember Mesh has a finer 1.9 mm aperture and is designed for ember protection in bushfire-prone areas up to BAL-29. It also provides excellent protection against fine leaves, pine needles and smaller debris.
Universal Mesh should not be selected where a compliant ember guard is required. Check your property’s BAL assessment and applicable building requirements before choosing a bushfire protection product.
Yes. These kits are designed for DIY installation and include the mesh, roof-profile saddles, gutter trims and screws required for the job.
The general process is to:
- Clean and flush the gutters.
- Roll the mesh along the gutter line.
- Cut the mesh to the required length.
- Fix the front edge to the gutter using the supplied trims.
- Form the mesh over the roof ribs.
- Secure it using a Trimdek® saddle on each rib.
Always follow the complete installation guide and use appropriate working-at-heights safety equipment. Engage a professional installer when the roof is steep, high, difficult to access or unsafe for DIY work.
Measure each gutter run that you want to protect and add the lengths together. Measure roof valleys and box gutters separately because these areas require different kits.
We recommend allowing a small amount of extra material for corners, overlaps, joins, trimming and unexpected variations in the roof.
For example, if your gutter runs total exactly 28 metres, ordering a 30-metre kit will generally provide a more practical allowance than ordering the exact measured amount.
Yes. Trimdek® mesh, saddles, trims and screws are available in a wide range of Colorbond®-style colours.
For the most discreet finish, match the mesh and saddles to the roof colour. The front gutter trim can be matched either to the gutter or to the roof, depending on the appearance you prefer.
Roof colours can fade or change slightly over time, so compare your roof with a current colour chart or contact us for assistance when you are unsure.
Yes. Standard Trimdek® gutter mesh is 250 mm wide and is intended for the normal roof-to-gutter installation.
The Trimdek® Box Gutter Kit uses 500 mm-wide mesh to cover the larger space commonly found between a metal roof and a box gutter.
The Trimdek® Valley Kit contains mesh and saddles specifically for covering a roof valley. Protecting the valleys is important because leaves and debris can collect there even when the gutters around the roof are already covered.
No gutter guard system is completely maintenance-free.
A correctly installed Trimdek® gutter guard substantially reduces the amount of leaves and debris entering the gutter, but the roof and mesh should still be inspected periodically. Fine dirt, airborne material and leaves may collect in low-flow areas, behind roof features or on top of the mesh.
Keep nearby trees maintained, check the system after severe storms and arrange safe cleaning when required. Regular inspections will help maintain water flow and identify any damage before it becomes a larger problem.
